Been Super Very Busy Lately

Hey readers. I'm very sorry to have not been updating my blog posts recently.

I mean there's a whole bunch of things to do in my life right now.

But to those who have been wondering what's happening, here's a quick review on my current status:

1) Currently in my 2nd year of studying medicine
2) I turned 20 on the 4th of February this year
3) Life on first-half of the year was more or less the time where I saw who are my real friends and learnt a painful lesson about friendship

4) Crowned as the Men Singles badminton champion for the 2nd time in a row at the Kursk State Medical University MY Games 2013

5) Back with my high school sweetheart :)

So there you have it. A brief story about my life so far. Hope I can return for more updates.
Till the next time!

Opinion Piece #3: Single Action to Hate

One of the basic things in life that people usually do everyday is the interaction with members of their own social circle. This circle are what we know and call it "the circle of friends".

So basically, we will do a lot of things together with our friends who share common interests, help each other out, and many more stuff relating to bonding of friendship. Mainly all the things we'd do with friends are aimed to be ALWAYS positive and they all come in many kinds of form like motivation, support, and advice.

But do all these things really matter to you after a few days? Well, usually yes. What if I put it after a few years? Do all these things still matter to you? Will you even remember them? For many, usually yes, while for some, no. Now, what if I added that your friend did something bad to you (maybe on purpose or not on purpose) and it happened at most twice, and you got really upset because of that. Again the same question, do all the good things your friend has done for you still matter to you? Even if it's just a mistake, a normal human error?

What I wanted to say here is, sometimes when our friends did something wrong, even for once, we tend to remember that more than the good things they did before. No matter how much we are pleased with the good actions of a friend, a single mistake is enough to change a perspective. Though, it would also have to depend on the degree of the mistake. A small mistake is often forgivable for anyone, while the big ones are difficult to forgive sometimes. Because of this, we begin to develop the feeling of hate towards that person and this tends to go on for some period of time. Making up for the mistake is the usual course of action to repair the damage and this surprisingly takes up several good deeds..

I'm stressing on SEVERAL GOOD DEEDS..

several good deeds versus ONE SINGLE MISTAKE..

Now I'm saying that it's very easy to hate someone because of a mistake, and the demand is higher just to make it up for it. We may even change our perspective on that person; for example, we knew that person to be a very nice and kind dude, but after certain actions that were quite unacceptable to his friends, now we now say he's an asshole or any other labels just as bad. We totally FORGET his good side.

Well, of course, not EVERYONE is gonna hate. Some will try to understand the reason behind his actions and accept his mistakes, move on, and still remember him for being the nice guy. And not all situations involve a high demand to make up for the mistakes made. Sometimes it only takes once and the friendship is back to normal again.

As a person who has been in both situations, I too have ever hated a really good friend because of his/her mistakes and all the good things they've done before were easily forgotten. And I've been hated by friends for my mistakes. Even tried experimenting with it once which eventually led me to write on it in this blog. It doesn't matter how close you are, it doesn't even count, it happens to all levels of relationships.

On hindsight, still, no man is perfect, no friendship is perfect..
We just keep doing our best..

Well, I guess now that I've mentioned all this, I would like to publicly say here that I've forgiven anybody who has hurt me and have done wrong to me.. and I'm sorry to anybody that I've hurt and have done wrong to you. Though for some actions and decisions I've made, I've no regrets for making it. If that'll make you continue to hate me for it, I won't stop you.

Until then, see you in the next post!

Go, My Love

Never thought that it would come to this
This love story we had
You left just like that
After all that we had together

Never thought things would go by so fast
Out of my selfish needs and reasons
I forget everything that you have said
Now, you're going to leave me

Go, my love
Chase your dreams
While there's still time
Don't worry about me
I rather part from you for your sake
May you achieve everything you worked hard for

Like We Used To

I can feel her breath as she's sleeping next to me
Sharing pillows and cold feet
She can feel my heart, fell asleep to its beat
Under blankets and warm sheets

If only I could be in that bed again
If only it were me instead of him

Does he watch your favorite movies?
Does he hold you when you cry?
Does he let you tell him all your favorite parts?
When you've seen it a million times

Does he sing to all your music
While you dance to "Purple Rain"?
Does he do all these things
Like I used to?

14 months and 7 days ago
Oh, I know you know how we felt about that night
Just your skin against the window
But we took it slow and we both know

It should have been me inside that car
It should have been me instead of him in the dark

Does he watch your favorite movies?
Does he hold you when you cry?
Does he let you tell him all your favorite parts
When you've seen it a million times?

Does he sing to all your music
While you dance to "Purple Rain"?
Does he do all these things
Like I used to?

I know, love
(Well, I'm a sucker for that feeling)
Happens all the time, love
(I always end up feeling cheated)
You're on my mind, love
(Oh sort of let her when I need it)
That happens all the time, love, yeah

Will he love you like I loved you?
Will he tell you everyday?
Will he make you feel like you're invincible
With every word he'll say?

Can you promise me if this was right?
Don't throw it all away

Can you do all these things?
Will you do all these things
Like we used to?
Oh, like we used to

Didn't You Know that Love Could Shine This Bright?

Was it love at first sight?
To see you shine even in this dark night
You make life bright
I would want to hold you tight

We meet on several meetings
To say the words full of meaning
Waited for you till 2 AM
Thinking when can I see you again

Dancing to every rhythm of the heart
Picturing you as one beautiful art
When we see eye to eye
This feeling you can't deny

It can't be mistaken
This female mystique is taking my breath away
My heart you have taken
With it I willingly send it your way

I may not see you
But I dream of you
Is there something I can do?
I can show you how I can be true

One day, when life needs to settle
This love will become subtle
But just for us tonight
Didn't you know that love could shine this bright?

Told You So

Looking at you now, I can tell
That you and your new relationship ain't going well
There's no reason your name should come up on my cell
Unless you're unhappy but that shouldn't be the case

'Cause you said, said he was the one
Baby, yes, you said, said you were in love
When you left me, you said that you wouldn't be coming back
Remember that but I never agreed

I hate to say it but I told you so
Told you if you left that you were going be miserable
Guess he don't do it like me or else you wouldn't be
Running back to the past, it was you that left me

I hate to say it but you know I'm right
Every time you're up, you're calling for me late at night
But now that you ain't got me, tell me where you going be
'Cause I can't take you back, no, my heart won't let me

Girl, you know he can't touch like I do
I don't see you tripping or flipping over his moves
Don't take a genius to see, he ain't that dude
But you let him back, you don't know what you was on

When you said, said he was the one
Baby, yes you said, said you were in love
When you left me you said that you wouldn't be coming back
Remember that but I never agreed

I hate to say it but I told you so
Told you, if you left that you were going be miserable
Guess he don't do it like me or else you wouldn't be
Running back to the past, it was you that left me

I hate to say it but you know I'm right
Every time you're up, you're calling for me late at night
But now, that you ain't got me, tell me where you going be
'Cause I can't take you back, no, my heart won't let me

You fell on hard times it seems but you ain't got no sympathy
No baby, not from me 'cause I told you, you should never leave
See you chose this road so you gotta go it alone
Remember I told you so

I hate to say but I told you so
Told you if you left that you were going be miserable
Guess he don't do it like me or else you wouldn't be
Running back to the past, it was you that left me

I hate to say it but you know I'm right
Every time you're up, you're calling for me late at night
But now, that you ain't got me, tell me where you going be
'Cause I can't take you back, no, my heart won't let me

Opinion Piece #2: Everyday I Love You

Hello again, and now with another quick update with Opinion Piece!
First of all I would like to wish all Christians a blessed Ash Wednesday!

Love is a hot topic among the younger generations and it so happens that today is Valentine's Day! I think I've wrote an entry about this day about exactly a year ago if I'm not mistaken. As for this edition, this will be an opinion about love and its significance to Valentine's Day.

Originally it is known as Saint Valentine's Day, observed on the 14th of February every year. The day serves as a celebration in many countries around the world.

The day is associated with Saint Valentine where the most popular martyrology was about him being imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and ministering to Christians who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. Before he was executed to death, he managed to heal the daughter of his jailer, and then wrote a letter "From your Valentine" as a farewell to her. Saint Valentine's Day is now an official feast day in the Anglican Communion, Lutheran Church, Eastern Orthodox Church (July 6th and 30th).

That's a bit of the history regarding Valentine's Day I picked off at Wikipedia. But then, what's that got to do with love? The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. From the 15th century onwards, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for one another by presenting various gifts such as chocolates, flowers, greeting cards.

So, when does a person fall in love? It can happen in various forms. Some had that common love at first sight where the person had that strong special feeling the second he lays his eyes on her, or vice versa. Another situation is when you've fallen in love with someone whom you have known for a long time, like your best friend. You've grown up together with a childhood friend, your neighbour, the girl next door, whatever, then all you want was that chance to take her out for a date and let the rest do its job.

What is the extend to the length of love? Well, we usually hear married couples made their vows saying "till death to us part". Does that mean love is only up until death? Some believe it can go beyond that. Well, I'm not dead yet so who knows what lies beyond the horizon of death. Others may be short-lived, with couples going their separate ways just after a short special relationship due to unwanted problems that can't be avoided. Some may even fall out of love after loving someone for a significant amount of time.

In the old days, love and courtship happens among the young adults and that's acceptable in my point of view. However, nowadays even kids at the age of 12 or below may declare love for another person and indicated how serious they are! Although this is the case, we still say that when kids are in "love", it only means "puppy love" and there's nothing actually serious about it.

What is the effect of love? There are so many of them actually. Generally, I can say that when the person is totally in love, they can do many things with great effect and get awesome results. It's quite similar to the sensation you have when playing sports for example, you were feeling great and performed a great feat of skills. Sometimes, the effect is way better than when you're having "your day". Furthermore, you may have the feeling like you're the happiest person in the world.

As great as love can be, its adverse effects are quite big too. Almost as bad as its good part. Love changes a person's life, either for better or for worse. A broken heart may lead to such effects such as increased stress, depression, a lot of sleepless nights, lack of concentration, occurrence of bad habits (drinking, smoking, etc.) and a tendency of suicidal acts. To prevent such activities, some people handle their broken heart by spending more time with friends, do some exercises, play sports, and other healthy activities that help strengthen a person to get back on their feet.

Love is not limited to only that special someone, but to friends, as well as siblings, parents, and grandparents. God teaches us to "love your neighbour as you love yourself". Therefore, love is also a special feeling for the people close to you. I can't think of anyone else who have loved me as much as my parents and siblings do. It is good that we appreciate them for taking good care of us since we are brought into this world.

Moreover, in my experience, I'm sure some readers have read my love phases and the most recent Love Phase 9 following its conclusion at the end of All the New Same Things. So far in my 20 years of living, I've learnt a lot, and I have failed as much. Still, I consider love as one of the most beautiful feeling in the world. In fact, to me, love is not just a mere feeling, it is a choice.

To conclude this piece, I would like to wish everybody, Happy Valentine's Day! No matter what status you are in right now, as long as you have sincere love in your heart.

Take care and see you again in the next post~!

p/s to lovebirds: Everyday should be Valentine's day for you :)

Opinion Piece #1: Your Action and Choices

Hello fellow readers, friends, family, and bloggers alike,

I'm back to blogging, again, but this time with another one of my episodic entries like I did many times before in the previous blog site. If any of you are still interested in how I wrote my entries, you can go to I M WHO I M which is my old blog. Note that I'm no more working on any new entries there.

Anyway, now I'm going to introduce to you a new episodic blog entries entitled "Opinion Piece". I'll be writing about any type of opinion I can think of based on life experience, common issues, and various more. I'll try not to include politics here and many other sensitive issues. Still, let me stress here that whatever opinion I wrote here is based SOLELY on my own. Therefore, if there's anything wrong I've done here, please do not hesitate to correct me because I'm still learning as well.

So, let's get to the point then..

Have you ever done a lot of things in life that you wished could change a person's life? Or was it for personal gain? You fell in love with someone, are you going to keep quiet about it, are you going to tell them, or let your actions speak for themselves? Either way, decisions and actions like these carry weight in the outcome and plays a big role depending on how big your commitment may be. It all depends on the situation that you face too.

Decision making and your actions needed can happen anywhere and anytime; be it between your friends, family, during a meeting or conference, during a war, disaster, even when playing games! Yeah, I'm serious about that last one. I mean, have you played the game called Mass Effect before? it's one of those games where each of your decision in the game determines the outcome at the end of each events and for the whole game afterwards. It is quite similar to when we face a situation in life.

Though, for some people, the actions that they have done for the people they came to care about will usually expect appreciation. No, I'm not talking about the type who wants something in return, but the ones who only wants to be appreciated. Another situation is when you voiced out an opinion to, what, create or improve something that would benefit a lot of people or the environment but nobody gives a shit about it. Sometimes we do things so that we could get recognized and better yet appreciated.

Worst still, not many people will remember the things you've done for them. Some will even take advantage of you. But what would you rather do after all this? Would you stop doing good for them, or don't give any shit about it and just do what you would do best? This is the case when it comes to decision making and actions with the people you meet in life.

A war's going on, you are to stop a missile from being launched to two important places; your military base consisting of a few hundred people, and a city consisting of thousands of people. Upon seizing the enemy base, you found their room of operations where the kill switch for the missiles are located. However, the kill switch can only stop one missile from being launched. Which one would you rather save? Kill a few to save the many?

As for me, I'm facing situations where sometimes I would want to be selfish. But for the people I care about, I never really cared about what they'll think of me, I'll be there for them whenever and in whatever capacity I can.

At the end of the day, sometimes, it's not about what the outcome might be that matters, but the decision you have made. Bad calls happen, and we'll have to live with the consequences. Still, sometimes we did it because we thought it was for the best. Some right decisions aren't always the pretty one too.

Finally, it's officially the end of my teenhood

Happy Birthday to me~!
Honestly speaking, I look so different now (I guess??!)
Maybe it's because I've decided to keep my hair longer
which is different from my initial choice of hairstyle (short hairstyle)

Oh well then.. here goes :)
some review of my life..
I'm the smallest one, obviously

I was around 2 :3

At this point, people were saying I looked like my dad

I'm just like anybody else, missing my childhood and already starting to miss my teenhood.
I thank God for giving life to me and has allowed my life to have prolonged this far

All the New Same Things

Pretty much the same blogging I've been doing for the past years (since 2007). To be honest, I can't seem to stop blogging about my life. Not that I want to, but it's just for the record. Well, I have been blogging about my life still.. though I feel it has become more personal that I've actually had another blog page on blogger that has been restricted to only myself. The purpose of my change of heart to life-blog on a privatized page was due to not expose my vulnerable self.

Anyways, still, I would occasionally update some "things" here as some close friends and family would like to know about what I've been doing so far and how am I doing so far in life.
Living abroad

To start, let's summarize 2012.. First and foremost, I've never imagined furthering my studies to a university at such a young age (at 19) and furthermore it's so far away from my homeland! It was pretty exciting at first but makes you miss your home a lot more than usual too. The fact is, I'll only to be able to come home once (sometimes twice) a year during the summer holidays in June. I'm getting old now so I guess it's no harm learning how to live and experience life away from family.
KSMU

Didn't actually took long for me to get used to the new environment. It still took me about 7 months to get used to life in the foreign country. Mainly I think it's because of the new language which currently is the hardest language I've ever learnt. So far, I'm able to use the language when buying things at shops and shopping complexes in Russia, and very small conversations with the locals.

My awesome roommate; Musson

Then, as usual, the drama.. yeah, you get the drill. I was still kinda stuck in the past at the time, dealing with my ex is one of them. I guess some scars between two individuals can never be healed once it became too deep. Took months for me to actually get out of it. I'm not the kind of person who likes to be harsh and mean towards problems like this.. but somehow the circumstances forced me to do so when it becomes too much. I didn't like how it ended, but that's how it should be I guess. My mistake was I cared too much of others that I keep hurting myself. I needed to take a stand and be selfish for this matter.

In October, I had my own sweet moment when I emerged triumph in the KSMU MY Games Badminton Championships 2012 for the men singles and men doubles event. Took 7 rounds for me in the singles event and 9 rounds in the doubles event. Mainly I played using experience because I'm not physically at my best, won all matches in straight games, and was the youngest winner for both events. Hopefully after this, the badminton team would consider my status as the top gun for the Malaysian KSMU badminton team to help others be better in badminton. I'm thinking of taking up as a coach for the team as we're still lacking quality and also quantity. It's not confirmed yet whether I want that position or not.
Let's play badminton!
Double Gold!

Ora et Labora, Pray and Work Hard
As for my studies, life will be hectic until the end of 3rd year. I'm currently coping well with it although it gives me headache most of the time. I ended my 1st year with a good result for Biology.. yes, only one final paper *laughs*. It gets harder from now on, I mean, it's never going to be easy, right? Let's just see how all this play out. All I can say is, study schedules currently reminded me of my time back in high school. We get about 10 subjects per semester and we're given tests most of the time. Honestly speaking, it's a pain in the ass.. but I'll always remind myself that all hardships are worth it. Sometimes I complain because I thought hectic number of subjects should already end in high school.. just saying.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention one thing; Love Phase 9. Yes, I fall in love again surprisingly. I have to stress it out here that.. it didn't work out. In life, it takes two to tango. In this case, I'm the only one who wants to tango. I learnt that, no matter what you did, how much time you spent, and how much you care.. it's never working out if the person of interest doesn't feel the same way, without considering time. I did the same thing to the person who loved me before, and I didn't know how she felt until it actually happened to me. Though blinded by false hopes and signals, I still feel good and happy of the things I did. The friendship itself mean a lot to me. It'll be hard for me to fall back to this but I'll give it a try. It's the least I can do.

Well, that's about it I guess. I'm considering updating my life here more often again. Classified stories will, of course, still stay at my personal blog page. Those stories are off limits.

Until then, wishing you all a great year ahead (kinda late for that, don't you think? xD) in this year 2013 :D
