KL PART 3: Break the Silence

WORDS FROM THE AUTHOR: "after more than a month keeping myself silent from blogging. now I'm back! sorry guys.. been busy lately with college.. you know, preparing for time-tests and semester exams, you get the drill. well, here's the continuation of the KL PART series; Break the Silence."

End of a Semester
finally, my 1st semester has ended.. well, it ended on 17th of November. and then I had a short semester break. well, it wasn't actually short.. but TOO SHORT. I mean, it's only 1 day of holiday, plus Saturday and Sunday which makes it only 3 days. anyways, for the whole time in semester 1, slowly I've become closer to my classmates. relatively, my class is a very small group consisting of only 9 people (now 10) and I spent most of half the time of semester 1 with them; went out for lunch, loitering, etc. meanwhile, I still keep close with the other FIS (Foundation in Science) peeps from other intakes (April and June).

most of my time, I would just be back at hostel, opening up my books and start studying. hell, exam week was kinda the worst. for the whole week, I would have to study from 10pm-3am every day! imagine how our class was pushed to the limit because we are without a study week (other intakes have a study week except for September intake). therefore, we need to sacrifice our sleeping time for good exam performance.. well, that's for me at least. luckily it's not like my high school days where I have to study for 10 subjects whereas in my current college, there's only 6 subjects and 4 are needed to score (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths). assignments were interesting and fun to do.. I mean, it's kinda much more fun to do then when it was back at school.. *I miss school*

although I nearly went crazy with the lack of sleep for the whole week, my efforts kinda payed off though I hoped for a better result. the following was what I scored for the overall results of my semester exams (A is the highest grade):

BIOLOGY: A
CHEMISTRY: A-
PHYSICS: A
MATHEMATICS: A
ENGLISH: A-
I.T.: B+

I was surprised with the result as it was my 1st time scoring As for all science subjects in a row. I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for God's help. however, it spurs me to continue this fine performance and do better for the next semester.

Fly Away Bernoulli!
after the 1st semester ended, it was time to prepare for the DIO (Do it Ourselves) FIS Science Fair which was held on the 25th of November. all of the FIS students from all intakes participated in the science fair as this was accounted for marks for course works (marks for Semester 1 for September intakes and Semester 2 for April and June intakes). what's really interesting about this science fair was, every group has their own bright and interesting idea. as much as the fun was there during preparation, there were also hardships on the road to make the science fair a success. like, it wasn't easy for some groups to find materials for their project. every group has to make 2 science projects; one is physics related and another chemistry related. all intakes were divided into many groups except for the September intake (the whole class is a group together). we had our own hardship as well, while the Chemistry corner of our group was working well, the Physics corner was having a problem.. 4 ideas was put into account (Homemade Oven, Flying Orb toy, and 2 others) but I have to reject them all (I was group leader) due to materials being expensive or unable to obtain easily. finally the 5th idea was proposed; the project was based on the Bernoulli's Principle.. you know, the higher the speed of the fluid flowing through a medium, the pressure in the medium decreases.. never mind. in short, the experiment was about which shape of aerofoil (made for wings of planes) works the best according to the Bernoulli's Principle.
presenting in front of VIPs; man in white is Mr. Kannan, CEO of Nirwana

on the day of the science fair, it was one of the most memorable days I've had in college. everybody was in tension at first as everyone wanted to make this science fair a success (first science fair held in Nirwana College) and each group will be judged by 4 different judges. as the presenter of my group in the Physics corner along with another friend of mine, I was kind of surprised with my presentation abilities as I was able to talk well in front of the 1st line of visitors who were VIPs. I was very nervous at the start, but as I opened my mouth, it was all smooth sailing. at the end of the day, overall, the science fair was a total success and praises were given to us for being creative in all of our work. personally, I would like to thank the 2 special people behind the science fair success, they are Ms.Kalai and Ms.Salaija who are the Chemistry and Physics lecturer respectively. without them, there will be no success in this. everybody did well and according to the judges, they say all of us were winners as the points allocated for every group were all close to each other.. but only 4 were picked to receive the prize. to my delight, my group (Physics experiment) was picked as one of the winners! our group wouldn't have done well if it wasn't for the great cooperation shown by all of the members of the September intake.

Exploring Kuala Lumpur and Meeting Old Faces
Pavilion preparing for Christmas
okay, enough of college.. *giggle*..
for the 3 months I've been living in KL, there's no way I would just stay at hostel and study. that would only make me crazy. okay, so sometimes I would walk around in KL with friends to buy stuffs, get haircuts, and also watch movies. on Sundays, I often go to church to pray to God Almighty for all the goodness He has given us. unlike at home in Sabah, I'm much more free to go anywhere I like at anytime and I took this opportunity to learn to be independent and explore KL together with friends or sometimes by myself.

recently, the only old buddy I've met during the whole time I was in KL was meeting Zachary, whom was my badminton partner in Form 5 and rigged home silver for school in boys doubles. since we've not seen each other for months, we can see lots of difference in each other.. he's gotten gayer.. LOL kidding. I wonder what happened to others.. I'm pretty sure I'll meet them one day, one by one.

Smashing in the Arena
so, basically I'm still playing badminton even in KL to maintain my talents. though, I'm definitely not as good as I was before anymore; I'm much slower, lower fitness, slower on court and less power driven strokes. I'm currently playing badminton at the Lee Chong Wei Sports Arena. it was such a BIG place! not only there's lots of badminton courts, there were also multiple futsal courts, yoga, table tennis, and many more!

oh well, that's kinda all for now about what's in Part 3 of life in Kuala Lumpur. there's still lots to write about but I'll keep it for the time being. like, I would like to write about Christmas but I think I'll save that for a very special blog post later on. Christmas is so around the corner and I can't wait for it!! till the next blog post and more to come, tata!

just a few more words, Part 4 is coming and it will be the final of the KL Part series.. a new series of my life will start soon after, with it's main heading entitled "KURSK" which covers my life and experience while studying in Russia. and yes, I will be flying to Russia to take my medical degree shortly after finishing my foundation. will be flying in early March. more details about that later.. have a nice December month everyone!

p/s: saving the Christmas wish for now.. so, Happy December!

Love Phases

for as long as I can remember all of my past relationships; each with it's own unique experience. though some of them don't mean anything at all. at this very moment, I felt like sharing these "love phases", what do I think of each encounter in an honest manner. what do I meant by "love phase"? well, simply put, it's the special relationships that I have with the opposite sex. and each phase is a different girl. ENJOY!

LOVE PHASE 1(AGE 11)
not much to tell, but you were my very 1st girlfriend. basically we didn't do much as were just kids and all we ever do together was talk and talk and talk. it got pretty bored after a while and it didn't last. it kinda sucked at that time when you treated me like shit after that. right now when I think about it, it's a laughing matter.. and I bet you feel the same way too :)

LOVE PHASE 2(AGE 11-12)
pretty much like the 1st.. well, you're best friends with the 1st girlfriend. you did the same, you treated me like shit after it was over. glad that now we're good pals again. we even chatted on Facebook recently! *giggle* I honestly don't know how far you've changed, but it was good to know that you're doing just fine.

LOVE PHASE 3(AGE 13)
honestly the funniest and shortest I've had. we just entered high school and we were classmates at the time. after a few notes sent to each other, you became my girlfriend! the whole thing was pretty awkward and you were the 1st I called "dear". I remembered how I needed to use my mum's handphone to text you every time we texted each other (I don't have my own phone at the time). somehow, the best thing about our relationship was it lasted only a week but it ended in the most friendly way. we didn't talk much to each other after that though. buy hey, you're one heck of a runner! I always loved to see you run during sports day.

LOVE PHASE 4(AGE 13)
not long after the 3rd phase, I 1st noticed you during our 1st school's badminton club meeting. you were a friend of my classmates and quickly admired you at 1st sight. with a help from that friend of yours, I got your number. everything was smooth sailing and in just about a month, you became my girlfriend! funny that whenever we meet face-to-face, the only word we say to each other was "hi". but in texting, we were like talking a whole bunch of things.. sucks eh? haa.. too bad our relationship ended with a misunderstanding. I thought that you were having 2 other guys behind my back. our relationship could have been a good one as we can work out the "lack of communication" thingy. and like the 2nd phase, I'm glad we're still friends after 2 years. hope you're doing well in whatever you do :)

LOVE PHASE 5(AGE 14-18)
among all, you are the longest I've ever had in my life. I don't know whether I can say you were the best, since you told me I was never a "boyfriend" to you from the start. but before all that, it was all real to me. you were also the hardest to win.. basically, you would treat me like shit as usual (which I never bother). and then we would have our own nice moments together, usually those times where I often make you laugh over my sarcastic comments and stories. well, I love being the "funny man" for you. I even remembered the time we 1st knew each other; I was teasing how fat my friend is and you scolded me for being so rude. we quarreled over the small matter and you gave me a huge punch on my shoulder *laughs*. despite all your harshness towards me, you still make me feel good at key moments. like the time when I said that I felt lonely coz I'm the only badminton player in class but you commented, "that's why you're mine!". at another you gave me chocs on our 1st valentine (at age 14), and then you called me your "lucky charm boyfriend" when your grades started to become better after we became couples at 17. well, those are the only few I remembered. back in my previous blog site, I created several love poems for you but I erased them all already coz I thought that it's meaningless to you. as for your current relationship, I only want to wish you the best. I'm really glad that it's working out very well for both of you. don't worry, whatever I wrote here, is already past. "God made you meet with a few wrong people before meeting the right one".. quoted by you :)

LOVE PHASE 6(AGE 15-16)
like Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo
another sports girl that I took into liking and a bit more. as you reside in Putrajaya, you visited Sabah along with your coach and team mates. that's where we 1st saw each other, on the badminton court. we didn't talk to each other for the whole time you were in Sabah. we only started communicating online shortly after you left. what I like about you, we share a lot of common things.. our birth dates are just a day and a year difference, we have a 20 year old brother who is annoying but cool, and most of all we both love badminton. we thought of being like Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo in future. in the end, I have to choose between you and the girl of phase 5.. and I chose phase 5 which left you kinda disappointed. I wondered what if you were mine at the time.. but I love your spirit for badminton. you inspired me to play at my best every time I enter the court although I only have a brief glory by playing for "peringkat gabungan" back when I was 16 winning a bronze in doubles and a quarter final in singles. you don't seem to change much and I'm glad you're still training hard in badminton. by the way, all the best in SPM exams!

LOVE PHASE 7(AGE 16)
the shawty of my class. I don't know what got me attracted to you, seriously. but you were also one of the hardest to get. I like your caring side and also the "never give up" attitude. I gave you up easily because of two things, 1st, you can't forget about your ex, 2nd, the girl of phase 5 was still on top. you're good.. just not for me I guess. but I really don't mind if you gave me a massage every time :D

LOVE PHASE 8(AGE 18)
I felt heavy typing this.. but one day the truth will reveal itself right? let me be the one to be honest about it. you were the 1st that I've coupled but was not being honest about it. I never have feelings for you, and I played your heart. don't you find it awkward that after breaking up with phase 5, and then I woo you few days after that? over that period of time, all I can think of was getting even with phase 5.. without realizing that your feelings were real for me. I thought I did the right thing by breaking up with you.. it's the best I can do. I don't want you to be with the guy who "played your feelings". I don't expect you to forgive me, I just hoped you understand. but one thing I'm really glad about you, I can tell that you are very loyal and that you're very honest with your feelings towards me. and honestly too, after I realized my mistake, I wanted to fall for you, but I felt nothing. all I can say right now is, I hope that you'll forgive me. I'm also sorry that I lied to you about the reason why I wanted to break up with you..

well, what happens to me now? doesn't seem like relationships are cut out for me. LOL. anyway, I'm hoping that this experience of mine could help the couples out there to develop a better relationship together and not be like what has happened to me. well, it's 12.13am now.. goodnight! and good morning.. see ya in the next post~

KL PART 2: I Wake Up to Your Sunset

gradually, my homesick feeling starts to go away. but I'm stuck here anyway for the rest of the year except for Christmas. when I thought KL was actually driving me mad, it wasn't.. because it was all in my head.

when I was still trying to get used to the environment in KL, I started it by being friends with my crazy housemates.. the guys were; Musson, Vincent, Adib, Erwan, Nursultan, and Julius. all of them... I can say, are crazily cool. and at that time, I'm more used to talking with Musson, whom is also a Sabahan himself and coincidently, HE'S MY COUSIN! and another coincident, his dad and my dad were housemates too back in their college days.. how ironic.. but still, that's cool. quickly, I got along well with all of them.
Ice Breaking at Kuchai Food Court

college in a city
when all ice breaking is over.. time for me to prepare for college. on my first day, it was a shitty start. what happened was, the college bus did not arrive at all. my housemates and I were waiting for the bus since 8.30am 'till 9am and we're 30 minutes away before class stars I was feeling quite nervous as I've not done anything about studies for the past 8 months. all I can do was try to stay calm and act like my stupid usual self. and so, what I did first was enter the main building, went up to 10th floor, see the marketing director. then, he asked someone to send me to my class. my class was on the other side of the building, in tutorial room 5, 1st floor.

well, then for the rest of my days, this has been my daily routine; wake up, bath, breakfast, college, lunch, college, home, study, sleep.

it's not much difference compared to school.. there are some difference though like, there are only 3 subjects per day and 2 hours per subject, easier focus, and of course you have to always be independent.. gotta be careful with my spending and all. luckily my parents would bank in money into my bank account every once in a while if I don't spend too much.

food court at Centre Market

this actually cost me RM10+

but sadly, spending quite a lot in Kuala Lumpur is kinda a MUST. it's pretty hard to find a place where it is at least cheaper than ordinary shops around KL. for example, sometimes in one day, I could finish RM20! and I said sometimes okay.. if it were everyday, I might even be promoted to shopaholic status.. spending at least an infinity per day. that would also mean bankruptcy for me (O_O)". my daily spending are mainly on food and drinks.. so I should be able to survive at least for a month.. and maximum for.. a month... oh well..

so far, it has only been my 2nd week in college, I've already done lots of notes for maths, bio, chem, and physics. chem is currently the hardest as I have to understand a lot of things to understand one concept! but it shouldn't be hard for me to get it because it's not that hard to get good focus here.. you know, no television, video game consoles, etc. the only source of entertainment and connectivity is my phone and laptop. and it is good now that I don't feel so lonely anymore.. I've gotten lots of friends already, mostly in other intakes (April and June). though I'm already friends with my own intake mates, they would prefer to be going "solo" instead of going out together.. but still they're cool and awesome anyways when we're all together in class.

April and June students are big in numbers.. around 45+ students and April is still growing in numbers after the Raya holidays. my class however only have 8 students.. 4 pairs.. and I meant 4 guys, 4 girls. so, who runs the class?? no one.. sorry Beyonce.. :p

do I have any more to say? maybe the pics here can help you better picture on what's KL life revolving around me..
the study table!

fooling around with the internet

this is where I sleep.. seriously

that's a wrap! and did I say there's a part 3? yes, there will be a part 3! in part 3 I will blog about the cool people I've met so far in my new life in Kuala Lumpur. until then, tata!

KL PART 1: I Say Good Morning, When It's Midnight

Hello my fellow readers, today I've given up my free time to post this blog instead of reviewing back my science subjects. seriously, for a smart-ass like me, I'm definitely smarter than an ass!

hahaha.. okay time to be partially serious here. right now, I'm composing this blog in my new condominium.. and this time while drinking Tiger.. I'm kidding.. I'm just drinking 100Plus. and I'm taking up 3 days to finish this post. that's actually because I'm putting in 3 days of my life into this one. a simple record-down-my-life.

so basically I arrived here on 2nd September in the evening 6pm. I suspected that it's still bright like 4pm in Sabah. but I wasn't going out soon as it took another half-hour to wait for my baggage. I flew by here alone and obviously I've got no one to talk to. as I waited 'till about 7pm, the taxi my dad booked the other day had finally came. the ride was long as it took an hour to arrive at my condominium. so, it was about 9pm... I entered my condo door.. no one was home. I was the only one there. after arranging my stuffs back to my room, I went out again to have my dinner at an Indian shop and stocked up food and drinks at 7-Eleven. I got back at around 10pm, turned on my laptop and went to Facebook to find someone whom I can chat with. I went to bed later at 12am... but my room was so damn hot! the damn fan wasn't working.. so I came up with a brilliant idea.. as I was used to sleeping in my living room back at home, I decided to move my mattress to the living room! oh how comfortable I was to sleep in the living room. my Nigerian roommate, Julius got back a while later and we were both surprised but happy to see each other.

the next day, I woke up feeling "sick".. I don't know the correct term for that.. it's the weird feeling when I'm away from a known place.. everything was damn quiet... even looking outside feels empty. I hate that feeling. nothing much happened, just had fried Maggie for breakfast, had lunch with Julius at the Indian shop again, revised my science subjects.. and took a long nap. it's boring you see, I really wished there's a television here and then I can bring and play my XBox360. at least that would make me feel much better or so to say the least that I'm not bored! oh my gosh.. I could get really crazy here. or maybe it's just me... coz I've been at my own home my whole 18 years of life. if I compare this to national service, national service feels much closer to home because my parents would come every Sunday to meet me and I have my classmate there together with me. right here.. I feel so alone (O_O)""""" ..

new shoes.. coz I left mine at Sabah
then came evening.. which was a bit interesting as my cousin's former classmates at Nirwana called me up to go out with them. so, we went to Sunway Pyramid and over there, I bought a pair of formal shoes (I totally forgot to bring mine from Sabah) and some more note books. the other two guys who invited me out (Mohan and Kavin) bought their own stuffs.. clothing to be specific. we were there until around 9pm.. I have to admit, Mohan and Kavin are really friendly and super cool. they are both currently studying at Kursk University. then they sent me back to my condo where I dropped off my things that I bought at Sunway.. then went out to the Indian shop again with Julius to have our late dinner at 11pm.. I think Julius and I are getting close to each other as we share a lot about our family and cultural background.. plus about how my people are often mistaken as Chinese people xD.. before going to bed, my family back home gave me a call.. it was really good to hear their voices but it's kinda not enough because I'm not there, I'm stuck here. well.. gotta get used to this crap!

however, this crap feeling starts to fade away slowly the next day. well, that's because all of my roommates were finally back! as they were back, they showed me a few nice places nearby to eat or just chill around. while some were nice, one shop wasn't my favourite. I'm not going to say the shop's name here.. it'll go bad for their business.. but I still want to say it, they suck! okay I said it, now shut up (-_-)...

END OF PART 1

Closing Comments:
Part 1 is kinda boring.. not much to do coz I spent most of my time at my condo... stay tuned to Part 2. (-_-)v

Kick Start to a Colourful Life

it has been a while that I've not written a post that is as long as an essay. right now, at 4.35pm as I'm typing this.. the weather is pretty cloudy and about to rain soon, I'm in the kitchen with my dad and sis, and I'm typing while drinking Lihing (one of Sabah's favourite local drink). actually, currently I'm out of ideas to post up a new blog entry since I'm back here in my home in Sabah and while I was briefly in Kuala Lumpur, there were hardly anything new happening. rather it's the common stagnant feeling that I have ever since I stopped badminton training.

and now it's the holidays season with Merdeka coming and also Hari Raya Aidilfitri. hahaha... even now I'm feeling bored. I just want to meet my St. Michael classmates and I hoped that we will meet as soon as possible since almost everybody is back here.

and obviously for me, while I'm in this "stagnant" state, I would dwell on past events.. wondered why it would never be the same again. must the term "move on" always be put into practice? my life has never been in my favour. well, it does always come in my favour in its own way too. but the big things that could have a major impact to me.. so far, never ends in the way that I expected it.

it all starts with an idea of how you would like to craft your life.. your ideal way of life. and of course, each individual always come up with an idea that will bear good fruit in the future, generally. I'm not including the bad ideas okay, so, I'm all in the positive. like me, my idea was: health, wealth, comfort, happiness. those are the small ones. as for the big ones: badminton, love. so far, there's only these two big ideas that I came up with. as for the rest such as being a doctor, succeeding the family's business are ideas that my family came up for me. honestly, I'm happy with it.

when I know that my badminton ideas failed because I can only live a quarter of it and never really excel in it, I was only left with something that I can depend on, love. not I meant by the love by friends and family... that love is already and currently perfect with me. I'm talking about THE LOVE. most people, young people, would fall in love with someone. it's practically common among people of my age nowadays. somehow, it's the most important and beautiful thing in the whole galaxy. but ever since losing it, I don't even know what it is anymore and I certainly don't feel any way close to it like before. that is why my recent relationship didn't work out. I feel guilty but no regrets.. at least I let her go before I hurt her any more further. to my surprise, I didn't care, not one bit. now I view myself as a heartless guy.. but honestly, I don't know what to feel and what to care for what I did. all I know is that she should be thankful that it ended.

I have more to say, but I don't want to type that long. keeping it moderate long you know :p. so anyway, what I'm trying to say is, this is how real life starts.. first, you live with everything coming your way, from your school days of course. then you gained a lot, that's the good part. at the end of your school days, slowly, your start to lose everything (not entirely everything).. this marks your new beginning, going into adulthood, starting from scratch, do new things, and meet new people. but it doesn't have to be like how I described here. it's just that this is how my new life would start. I have to keep on being positive, find strength in my weakness..

I lost everything, but it's my kick start to a colourful life.

What Does ALREADY ASIAN Think About: Boyce Avenue

music fills the soul,
without them, you'll have no soul.. that's why it fills you up till you get fat

seriously..

so anyway, I was just browsing the net, went in to YouTube
to listen to musics.. and then I came across this band, to me, they're new though the band formed in 2004 according to Wikipedia.
from left: Alejandro, Daniel, and Fabian

Boyce Avenue! an American acoustic rock band with members featuring of the Manzano brothers; Alejandro, Daniel, and Fabian..

so, what do I think of them?
well, I've always been a fan of acoustic rock bands..
I say Boyce Avenue is great!

check out their YouTube channel, Facebook page, also their official site
subscribe them, like them, embrace their music :)

I Want a New Look

over the years,
I've change my look a few times. some were changes made by my parents; those were my childhood days.
now, I decide how I would want to look!
the good boy, spiky kinda flat-top look
Kelvin: cute kan saya?; Zack: yes, don't forget handsome too :D
under the influence of Korean Pop artist Taeyang, I embedded his signature mohawk
it got longer after that..

I don't know.. talking 'bout hairstyles..
I've always liked having short hairstyles,
you know.. the flat-top look but spikier..
this is currently me; got kinda lazy so I just leave my hair naturally like that

but now I'll be leaving my hair long..
and then one day, when it is long enough..
I want to have a new look that looks kinda exactly like this:
Jung Gyu Woon, a young talented Korean actor

hmm.. still, I might change my mind but currently I would like to try this..
hehe.. (^_^)v
by the way, the above pic is Jung Gyu Woon

My Rocking Dad just Turned 52

my dad ate all the candles.. kiddin..

yep that's right.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!
it's just one of the birthdays in the family that I couldn't forget ever since I remembered my own birthday.
that includes my mum and my brother and close friends.
it's a wonder to me, my dad is already 52..
but still has black hair???
most people mistaken him as a man in his mid-30s xD
but if you turn his age around.. 52 become 25..
well, that's kinda mid-30 to you :D
my sis takes a pic of the wonderful before gulping it all up.. nasty..
YUMMY! chocs!
Daddy Monster.. Mamee Monster's successor
Zack: palan2 bha dad.. you'll get choked; Dad: what do you know about being choked? I ate more salt than you! xD

so anyway, big thanks to my youngest aunty, Ms. Bernie
coz she baked a really wonderful cake for my dad (chocolate rum)..
and honestly for me, the cake can compete against famous bakery stores (^_^)v
here goes..
my sis seems to have a good time of her own (^_^)
nak ker??? hehehehe
my beautiful mum <3
DIE, CAKE!
(^_^)

but..

it didn't stop there~

we went out again (one family)..
to one of our most favourite drinking spots in town..
BB Cafe~!
and so we had whisky and Skol beer until it was about 1AM in the morning..
funny thing is, my sis and I were kinda "knocked out" so we didn't have time to wash up..
we just fell to bed and slept till morning..
in the mood for some whisky~
my sis can be quite a drinker.. LOL
the atmosphere at BB Cafe is really nice at night
it's sausages.. hmm..

KIDS.. don't drink.. it's really bad.. seriously (o_O)
even when I'm drunk, I'd never miss my signature peace sign (o_o)"v

so anyway.. Happy Birthday Dad once again..
you're always there for me in my life, like.. literally always
in my studies, in my love life, whenever I'm lonely (when I'm far from home)..
you rock.. maybe that's how you rock mum's world! hahaha!
